Innovation District
The energy transition, renewable energies, smart cities, the solar industry, and sustainable mobility are experiencing unprecedented growth through continuous innovation. KEY-The Energy Transition Expo will dedicate an exhibition area to showcase this innovation, ensuring visibility for companies that are consistently investing in R&D. These efforts aim to support and accelerate advancement in key sectors which are essential for the energy transition.
This commitment has led to the creation of the Innovation District: a place dedicated to technological innovations, services and integrated solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy. A path of open innovation between companies attending the event and start-ups in order to develop connections and synergies that can promote product and/or service innovation.
The Innovation District is organized by Italian Exhibition Group SpA, promoted in collaboration with ICE-Italian Trade Agency, ART-ER, a consortium company of Emilia-Romagna, FONDAZIONE MAI, an expression of the Confindustria System, and will have ANGI the National Association of Young Innovators as Main Partner .

CALL FOR START-UP
KEY reconfirms and enhances the Start-Up area by offering companies and investors a wider and more dynamic dialogue platform to promote the growth of the next generation of innovative companies.
The initiative runs across all of IEG 's industries, and to further enhance the value of emerging companies, an award has been established for the three start-ups with the highest innovative potential, selected by an Evaluation Committee.
LORENZO CAGNONI INNOVATION AWARD
Since the KEY 2024 edition, KEY has organised the Lorenzo Cagnoni Innovation Award, dedicated to the memory of the IEG president.
The award is given to the seven most innovative projects among the exhibitors, one for each of the seven product sectors present at KEY.
This initiative is designed to reward those companies that for years have been committed to developing increasingly innovative products and proposing cutting-edge services, thus contributing to the transition towards the use of renewable energies in our country and throughout the world.
The evaluation will be carried out by a committee made up of representatives from the event, research, associations and industry.
