KEY - The Energy Transition Expo
After a 2024 that has broken every record in terms of attendance and adhesion by leading national and international brands in the energy sector, the reference event in Southern Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean basin on energy transition and efficiency will return to the Fiera di Rimini Exhibition Centre from 5 to 7 March 2025, with the ambition of growing even further and strengthening its international vocation.
A new opportunity to join the global energy transition community, network, intercept new business opportunities, exchange views with leading experts in the sector and stay informed and updated on the developments of a market that is decisive for our future, that of renewable energies.
The exhibition project
+ 90,000 sqm of gross exhibition space
A new event layout, designed to expand the exhibition area, extended over both wings (east and west) of the Rimini Exhibition Centre. Alongside the spaces reserved for KEY's seven product sectors (photovoltaics, wind energy, hydrogen, energy storage, energy efficiency, electric mobility and sustainable cities), special areas dedicated to transversal projects, networking, innovation and training will grow.
HYPE - Hydrogen Power Expo
At KEY 2025 for the first time much more than just an area dedicated to hydrogen and projects for its production and storage: a real Exhibition with the new name HYPE - Hydrogen Power Expo supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells, jointly organised by the Italian Exhibition Group and Hannover Fairs International GmbH (HFI), the Italian branch of Deutsche Messe AG, with the aim of focusing the debate on hydrogen, constituting a moment of reference at international level for the players involved in the development of this supply chain to compare notes and support the birth of new projects.
Keyword: Innovation
Back in the South Hall, in a privileged position in the centre of the exhibition centre, is the Innovation District, where Italian and international green start-ups and SMEs selected through a special Call can find a reserved space to present their innovations and meet companies and investors, seizing a unique opportunity for visibility within the reference event for energy transition in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean basin.
Not only that. KEY also highlights the innovations and novelties of the exhibiting brands. For the second year, the Start-up Award and the Innovation Award will be presented at the Innovation District, both named in memory of the past president of IEG, Lorenzo Cagnoni.
Valorization of Green talent and skills
For the first time, KEY will host the Green Jobs & Skill initiative, to facilitate the matching of labor supply and demand, with the aim of decreasing the green skills gap still common within companies. The project is a valuable training and career guidance opportunity for students and young workers, but also an opportunity for companies to meet potential candidates and identify the most promising talents.
KEY´s first Call for Papers is addressed to scholars, researchers, professionals and innovators : participants will be able to submit their own abstract on the topics of renewable energy and energy transition. Selected papers will be published by the new scientific journal QualEnergia Scienze and some of them may also find space within the conferences organized during the three-day event.

Special projects
Every change brings with it the emergence of new professions. This also applies to the energy transition, which requires the development of new green skills. Thanks to the Green Jobs & Skill project, for the first time also at KEY 2025 it will be possible to match supply and demand: students and young workers will have the opportunity to meet companies, as well as to take advantage of a valuable training and orientation opportunity, decisive for their professional future. For their part, companies will have the opportunity to meet candidates, intercepting the most promising talents.
Among KEY 2025's unprecedented projects, there will also be a Call for papers that will allow those who wish to get involved to propose an abstract on a topic to be chosen from among: off-shore wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen, energy efficiency, storage systems, electric mobility, sustainable cities, finance, the new role of ports for the energy transition, climate policies.
