Marche Region participates as a partner in the project Express - European Regions promoting energy self-sufficiency from renewable sources, funded by the INTERREG Europe program, through the Sector - Energy Sources, Waste, Quarries and Mines ecause of the specific competencies assigned to it in the field of energy sources and sustainable construction (DGR n.566/2023).
The objectives of the EXPRESS project are:
- increase the share of renewable energy in the participating regions;
- increase energy self-sufficiency in participating regions;
- improve regional strategies to better consider the new energy sector operating environment and enable a quick transition to locally produced renewable energy for heating, electricity and transportation.
Marche Region is focusing strongly on the development of local energy communities. As part of the project's implementation activities, partners have the opportunity to exchange their experiences in energy self-sufficiency and renewable energy use. Through participation in the project, the Marche Region intends to deepen and find useful solutions to be transferred to the regional territory on the topic of Low Carbon Energy Communities and related digital services.
