In the current transition towards a sustainable energy paradigm, harmonizing renewable energy resources with the existing electrical system represents a complex challenge, full of technical and strategic implications. At UL Solutions we are pleased to present a high-level discussion panel aimed at exploring the dynamics of integrating renewable energies in the Italian and European context. The panel is composed of a selection of experts, representatives of certification bodies, providers of advanced technologies, energy service operators and academics, who will all share their specialist perspectives.

The goal of the panel is to outline and discuss the challenges that arise in interfacing distributed and utility-scale energy sources such as solar, wind and storage systems with the conventional electrical grid. Participants will present their analyses related to certification processes, technological innovation for grid stabilization and efficiency, strategies adopted by utilities to manage the growing demand for connection for new plants, and the latest advances in scientific research.

Attendees, which will include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), energy asset owners and plant consultants, will benefit from a detailed view of the regulatory frameworks and standards that are shaping the sector, as well as design considerations and technological evolutions that can facilitate an effective transition towards a renewable energy system. Through a cross-analysis of challenges from different angles, the panel aims to identify viable solutions and best practices to guide the energy sector towards a resilient and sustainable future in Italy and Europe.
