The electric storage sector is increasingly neuralgic for the decarbonization strategy of the electricity sector; it is a very versatile technology because it offers a multiplicity of uses with instant response times; investment initiatives are multiplying worldwide. The conference aims to take a snapshot of market dynamics at the international level to land in Italy where the residential, C&I, utility scale market segments juggle changing scenarios, evolving regulations*, policy implementation timelines, business modeling, risk profiles and bankability of projects, and technical capabilities. In this context, one may lose sight of the goal of optimizing the use of these resources in order to reduce system costs. In the panel discussion, an attempt will be made to put priorities and benefits in some order.
