The New ANIE-RSE White Paper on Storage. New opportunities, what business models

Stationary energy storage in electrochemical batteries is a fast-growing phenomenon, with thousands of MW installed in Italy and with forecasts of further ambitious goals. ANIE and RSE have for years played a role in observing technological, application and regulatory developments, which has resulted in the publication of a series of White Papers that have accompanied and analyzed the opportunities of this sector, which responds to clear needs for efficient management of the electricity system in transition. Despite this, the return on investment in storage systems is not always readily achievable, and new forms of remuneration must strike the best balance between achieving objectives and containing system costs. The fourth edition of the white paper is presented, which reports on analyses carried out on specific case studies among the most topical ones.
