Energy accounting is a fundamental strategic tool for making informed decisions and achieving your organization's sustainability goals. In order to respond to the growing attention to environmental issues, a more accurate and transparent assessment of how energy is used is needed. A practical guide to designing and maintaining energy accounting will be presented, applicable to systems of any size. Based on a model similar to economic balance sheets - that is, based on a comparison between two tables, sources and uses - this guide provides all the tools necessary to build a rigorous and reliable energy accounting system. Using the guide allows you to adopt a common approach, making different systems easier to compare and the result more transparent and verifiable.
Energy accounting provides a representation, at the desired level of detail, of energy flows in a system. A support tool for communicating results to stakeholders, evaluating and improving performance, designing new, more efficient energy systems and calculating the environmental impact of energy consumption. The seminar will illustrate the methodology for energy accounting with some educational examples. An event designed for energy managers, EGEs, utilities, ESCOs, monitoring platform providers and other stakeholders involved in energy management and decarbonisation.
