Thirty Italian and international start-ups and young green companies will present products
services and innovative technologies related to the world of energy transition

Rimini, 17th March 2023 . Energy transition meets innovation and lands at K.EY - The Energy Transition Expo, the first stand-alone edition of the IEG (Italian Exhibition Group) energy transition event of reference in Italy, Africa and the Mediterranean basin, scheduled to take place at Rimini Expo Centre from 22nd to 24th March.

Under the Expo Centre´s dome at the main entrance from the South Hall, K.EY will be presenting the Innovation Square, an entire physical and virtual exhibition space where thirty Italian and international green start-ups and scale-ups offering products or services linked to the energy transition will have the opportunity to present their most innovative new technologies and ideas.

The call attracted numerous applications and a great deal of interest from more than 60 innovative start-ups and SMEs involved in energy transition. A success that prompted the organisation to expand the number of spaces available at the fair to 30 instead of the 20 initially planned for.

With the Start-up and Scale-up Innovation Area, K.EY confirms its role as an incubator, facilitator and reference platform for young national and international companies and green innovators. Here they can meet companies and investors and develop new projects and sustainable business by seizing the opportunity to launch their own brand at the reference event for the world of renewable energies and energy efficiency in the Mediterranean basin.
The initiative is organised by Italian Exhibition Group, promoted in collaboration with Italian Trade Agency and boasts ART-ER (Attractivity Research Territory), a consortium company based in Emilia-Romagna, as its main partner.

Of the 30 selected start-ups, 26 are Italian from Lombardy, Piedmont, Tuscany, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Apulia, Abruzzo and Friuli Venezia Giulia, and 4 are foreign: 2 from France, 1 from the United Kingdom and 1 from the Netherlands.
They cover various sectors, including photovoltaics, storage and solar, wind energy technologies, hydrogen, energy efficiency, e-Mobility and IOT - digitalisation with platforms to unite renewable energy communities, digital transformation solutions for the construction industry, system integrators in the nautical sector for electric boats, innovative systems and system integrators in hydrogen production, SaaS for energy analysis, and coaching in order to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. There will be manufacturers of airborne wind turbines (AWE) for off-grid populations; manufacturers of long-life, sustainable and recyclable stationary batteries; developers of thermal batteries for waste heat recovery; mechatronic engineering companies providing innovative solutions for the marine and automotive sectors; and engineering companies specialising in industrial decarbonisation projects, as well as companies involved in the internet of things, consulting and support for organisations in decarbonising their processes.
