These are the main features of Paolo D'Ermo's professional experience in the energy sector.
Paolo supports the World Energy Council mission "to promote the sustainable production and use of energy for all" as Secretary-General of the Italian Member Committee of the World Energy Council. Since he has been appointed Secretary-General in 2016, WEC Italy has improved its role and visibility as a multi-stakeholder and multi-energy platform gathering institutions, universities, associations, companies, and energy experts debating Energy Transition pathways, opportunities, and challenges. In this framework, WEC Italy has succeeded in bringing the annual flagship event of WEC “the World Energy Week 2018” in Milan with the participation of energy experts among Ministers, CEOs, institutional and company delegates from more than 40 countries. Moreover, the Association has developed training workstreams for energy companies in partnership with Universities and Business Schools.
In 2020, launched the new digital magazine of the Association "WEC Italia Dialogues" and developed new study activities in collaboration with our network of Professional Fellows. Paolo is a member of the Italian Order of Journalists, Member of the Board of the Italian Association of Chemical Engineers, Communication Manager of AIDIC's Energy Transition working group, and a Member of the Scientific Committee of ConferenzaGNL and Hydrogen Energy Summit&Expo (HESE).
